Starting the season with four consecutive road games, the Ghostriders returned to the friendly confines of Fernie Memorial Arena on Saturday evening to host the Kimberley Dynamiters in the second of back to back games.

Runners are gearing up for the Fernie Half Marathon this weekend.

The Ghostriders won 3-2 in Kimberley on Friday night.

Kids from all over the Elk Valley have joined together to take part in a kids’ triathlon.

Ghostriders new captain is named

Two Fernie skaters competed at the Wildrose competition in Leduc, Alberta last month.

The Terry Fox run was a success at the Fernie Memorial Arena today. With the team departing next weekend on a three game road swing the Ghostriders and several members of the community ran the yearly event this past Sunday. $200 was raised for the Terry Fox Foundation. Thank you to all those who came out to support such a great cause.

Over 2,000 people showed up to the rodeo grounds on Labour Day weekend to the annual Fernie Demolition Derby to see dozens of specialised machines put on a smashing spectacular. However, with the lease on the rodeo land now expired and development plans being made, the future of the derby is uncertain. ‘We have tentative places we could go, but we don’t want to move out of town’, says Rick Ganter, Lions Club member and long time derby organiser.
