There are all kinds of events coming up at the Fernie Heritage Library this May.

Sew-cial

Saturday May 11th & 25th, 1pm - 3pm

Learn basic sewing techniques, and then put those skills to work! You’ll learn some best practices for sewing including pressing and pinning.

This event is for adults and teens 13+

Emergency Preparedness

Wednesday May 8th, 3pm - 5pm

During the regular Wednesdays at the Library program, Fernie’s Deputy Fire Chief Scott Robinson will be in the Library with information to learn more about how to be prepared for an emergency.

Movie Night with the Mayor & Council

Wednesday May 15th, 6:30pm

Come celebrate Local Government Week with Fernie’s Mayor and Council.

Everyone is welcome, no registration required.

Storytime with the Mayor

Friday May 17th, 11 a..m

Come celebrate Local Government Week with Mayor Nic Milligan.

Community Yard Sale

Saturday May 25th, 9am - 1pm

The Library is taking part in the Community Yard Sale and will have new and used books available for purchase (cash only).

They will be accepting donations between May 7th -17th. Any donated books not added to our collection will be included in the sale, with all funds going directly back into the Library.

Summer Launch Party: Ride With Librarians

Wednesday May 29th, 4pm

Join the Fernie Heritage Librarians for games, snacks, and the first Book Bike ride of the season!

Conversations with Poets

Thursday May 30th, 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Join three award-winning poets Jane Byers, Leesa Dean and Rayya Liebich for an evening of all things poetry: author readings, discussions, poetry mad libs, writing prompts and more!

Bring your notebooks for interactive activities.

Tea & Talk Book Club

Friday May 31st, 1:30pm - 2:30pm

Wednesday Toddlertime in the Garden

Wednesdays in May & June, 11:15am - 12:15pm (ages 0-5)

Join Miss Laura from CBAL for Toddlertime in the Library garden for songs, stories, and fun activities.

Spring Update

Changes are coming to Fernie Heritage Library main floor. They are renovating the children’s area to create a new space to gather and connect.

Those who attended Summer Reading Club in 2023 will be excited to hear that summer programmer Avery is returning to host SRC 2024! This year’s theme is ‘World of Curiosities’
